RABIH ABOU-KHALIL

The Lebanese composer, oud player and conductor, has recorded with the greatest names in jazz, Arabic traditional musicians, classical string quartes, Armenian musicians, Fado singers and many more!

 

BBC Symphonic Orchestra and the Frankfurt Modern Ensemble have commissionned him for symphony writings. Enriched by this achievement, Rabih Abou-Khalil is considered as a link between East and West.

Recognized for the quality of his orchestras, Abou-Khalil now plays mainly with a trio strongly influenced by the Mediterranean with an accordionist from Rome and a drummer specialized in frame drums installed in Turkey.

This group, created more than a decade ago, is unlike anything seen before on Earth.
